Flipkart has been revealing Big Billion Days offers for some time now. According to the teaser, the latest Google smartphone Pixel 9 is going to be sold at an effective price of Rs 69,999. Launched at Rs 79,999, this sale is getting a discount of Rs 10,000. The Google Pixel 9 series was launched in India on August 14 last month. The Google Pixel 9 series is designed to unleash the power of its AI, Gemini. However, one question still remains: is it worth it?

Before we answer this question, it is worth noting that the Flipkart sale is also offering a discount on the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. Launched at Rs 1,24,999, the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is getting a discount of Rs 24,000, making it available for Rs 1,00,999. The Pro XL is not only bigger in size, but it also has a 5,060mAh battery, which is relatively large.
Google Pixel 9 gets Rs 10,000 off: Is it worth it?
The Google Pixel 9 series is the latest smartphone series that is deeply integrated with AI. But has Google done a good job? The Pixel 9 is one of the most talked-about smartphones, especially because of its features. But before moving on to that, let’s take a look at the build of the Google Pixel 9. The design of the Pixel 9 is impeccable thanks to the aluminum frame. The body feels sturdy and durable. The rear glass has a glossy and polished finish. It is more regular, unlike the luxurious velvety finish offered on the Google Pixel 9 Pro. It has a 6.3-inch OLED display with uniform bezels all around.
It is powered by Google’s Tensor G4 processor, paired with the Titan M2 security coprocessor, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. Want to know how it performs in real life? Read our detailed Google Pixel 9 review here.
For optics, the device features a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 50-megapixel wide lens and a 48-megapixel ultrawide lens. The size of the camera module on the Pixel 9 is the same as the Pixel 9 Pro XL, though it only has two cameras. There is no telephoto camera here. Also missing is the infrared sensor, which powers the temperature app on the Pixel 9 Pro XL. But the depth of the camera module is the same, probably because the Pixel 9 has the same large main camera sensor that we get on the Pixel 9 Pro.
It has a 4700mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging, and is also compatible with wireless charging. Like previous Pixel phones, the wired charger is sold separately. It runs on Android 14 and promises 7 years of Android OS and security updates, so you’re getting long-term software support.
Google has also introduced several AI features powered by Gemini in Pixel phones. Here is the list of AI features in the Pixel 9 series. In short, it includes the Weather app, Call Notes, Screenshot app, Pixel Studio, Camera AI, Gemini Live, and more.
Based on the testing we did on the Google Pixel 9, we think it’s worth it, even though it has its minor flaws.
