Google One has officially launched the Lite plan to increase storage, and it costs less too. Google One subscription mainly offers additional storage space that can be shared across various Google services like Gmail, Google Photos, and Google Drive. While all users get 15GB of free storage, Google One offers upgraded storage options of 100GB, 200GB, and 2TB, giving users more space to store their files and data.

The Google One Lite plan increases the standard 15GB of free storage to 30GB, but with some limitations. Unlike other Google One plans, the Lite tier doesn’t allow storage sharing with up to five additional users, and it also drops the additional features available in the higher-tier plan, making it a more basic storage upgrade option.

The Google One Lite plan does not include AI features, which are exclusive to the AI ​​Premium plan. This premium plan offers 2TB cloud storage, advanced AI capabilities via Gemini, integration with various Google apps, and Magic Editor in Google Photos, all available at a monthly price of Rs 1,950.

It seems that this plan is being rolled out in a phased manner, as it is only available to a few users. Like most Google One plans, Google is also offering a one-month free trial to those interested. We will have to wait for Google to confirm when it plans to roll out this plan more widely.

The Google One Lite plan costs Rs 59 per month, which offers 30GB of storage at a significantly lower price than the 100GB plan, which is available for Rs 118 per month, essentially making the Lite plan half the price of the next tier. The Google One Lite plan offers a 1-month free trial, just like the other plans.

The annual subscription can be purchased for Rs 589. According to media reports, some users also get a special deal for the first month of subscription. The discount offer may bring down the price to Rs 15 per month for two months.
