Google is all set to officially launch the Pixel 9 series in India on August 14. Ahead of the big launch, two Pixel phones have already been listed on Flipkart. Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The Flipkart listing indicates that these could be the only two models that the company may launch in India, while Google is expected to launch four models. Notably, Google is expected to launch four models this time including Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Recently, the prices of the devices were also leaked online. The Pixel 9 Pro lineup is going to be an exciting, but possibly expensive upgrade from its previous models. The standard Pixel 9 Pro is rumoured to start at $999, which is roughly Rs 83,867 – the same as the Pixel 8 Pro. However, the real star could be the Pixel 9 Pro XL, which is believed to be the true successor to the Pixel 8 Pro, and it could come with a hefty price tag. Word on the street is that the Pixel 9 Pro XL could be priced at $1,200, roughly Rs 1,01,000, for both the 256GB and 512GB models. That’s a $200 increase from last year’s Pro models!

If Google sticks to this trend, we could see the base Pixel 9 launching at around $900 i.e. roughly Rs 75,556. The leak also indicates that the two Pixel 9 Pro models could be listed at this price. But before you panic, remember that US prices don’t always match what we see in India. For instance, the Pixel 8 Pro was launched in the US at $999, but the 128GB variant was priced at Rs 1,06,999 in the Indian market. If history repeats itself, the Pixel 9 Pro could also come with a significant price jump in India, possibly around Rs 23,000 higher than the US.

The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro may be getting more expensive, but there is good news for foldable enthusiasts. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is rumoured to be priced the same as its predecessor, which could make it an attractive option in the premium foldable market.

Talking about the specifications, the Pixel 9 Pro is expected to feature a 6.3-inch display, 16GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. The camera is also getting some major upgrades, with leaks suggesting that it will have a 48-megapixel telephoto lens and a 42-megapixel front camera.

A recently leaked video gave us a glimpse of the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s design, showing a cool geometric pattern on the back. But since the screen remained off the whole time, it’s likely that this was just a prototype.
