Bruce Springsteen is here to stay and the Boss has shut down every rumour that he is saying goodbye to his greatest achievements and stage life.
Recently, the legendary artist came on stage to surprise his fans as usual but also gave them a big surprise. There were rumours in the music industry that the Dancing in the Dark singer was nearing retirement. Along with this, some also said that Springsteen will soon be seen on a farewell tour.
However, to everyone’s surprise, the whole thing was debunked by the legend himself. “We’re not doing a farewell tour,” Springsteen said on stage, as can be seen in footage on X (formerly Twitter).
The artist recently performed at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, where he addressed an enthusiastic crowd and talked about his program, the E Street Band.
Soon, the Streets of Philadelphia artist was also heard saying that the E Street Band is not planning to go on a farewell tour in the near future. Bruce Springsteen was also heard saying during a live concert that his current world tour will not be the last time the audience will see him on stage.
As for his current world tour, the artist will next be seen in Washington, D.C. in early September.
While the crowd was already welcoming the big news of Bruce Springsteen continuing to perform live, the artist took to the stage with some sarcasm and said, “No way… Goodbye to what? Thousands of people screaming your name? Yeah, I want to quit that.”
He then spoke to the massive crowd during his concert, reiterating that he and his act aren’t going anywhere. Well, it’s not just Bruce Springsteen who has addressed the talk of retirement and a farewell tour, but E Street Bands guitarist Steven Van Zandt has spoken out on the same.
Van Zandt shot down the rumors when he spoke to The Telegraph last month, saying the end of the show was not in the near future. He then added that the band “could perform every summer forever, man.”
The European shows of the E Street Band 2024 World Tour were postponed due to Springsteen’s vocal problems. These shows were in Marseille, Prague, Airport Letnice in the Czech Republic and San Siro Stadium in Milan, and will be covered next summer.
This autumn, the highly acclaimed artist will be seen performing in venues including Baltimore, Asbury Park, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary and more.
