The 83rd Golden Globe Awards are set to kick off the 2026 awards season with a spectacular celebration of cinema and television. Taking place at the prestigious Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Returning as host for the second consecutive year is comedian and actor Nikki Glaser, who was widely praised for her sharp wit in early 2025. Known for her fearless humor, Glaser previously described the Golden Globes as “Ozempic’s biggest night”, striking a balance between satire and celebration and saying hosting the Globes was the most fun experience of her career.
When, where and what time to watch the Golden Globes as per IST
The Golden Globes awards ceremony begins at 6:30 a.m. on January 12. Indian fans can tune in live via JioHotstar, while viewers in the US will be able to watch on CBS or stream on Paramount+. This year’s nominations include some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael B. Jordan, Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and Emma Stone, promising a star-powered morning of glamor and excitement.
Film and TV nominations
Leading the film nominations this year is One Battle After Another, which received nine awards, including acting mentions for Leonardo DiCaprio and Chase Infinity and a directing nomination for Paul Thomas Anderson. The film competed in the Musical or Comedy category, where DiCaprio faced stiff competition from Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme) and George Clooney (Jay Kelly). Danish drama Sentimental Value follows with eight nominations, while Sinners earned seven nominations. On the television front, The White Lotus continues its dominance with six nominations and continues its strong momentum heading into awards-season.
Presenter at the Golden Globes 2026
The ceremony will also feature a stellar line-up of presenters, mixing Hollywood stalwarts with contemporary stars. Those confirmed include Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Queen Latifah, Amanda Seyfried, Ana de Armas, Dakota Fanning, Lisa from Blackpink, Snoop Dogg, Zoë Kravitz and Kevin Hart, among many others. Notably, Chopra Jonas is the only Indian representative among this year’s presenters. Adding a historic touch, the Golden Globes will introduce a Best Podcast category for the first time, expanding recognition beyond traditional screen formats.
Honoring a lifetime of achievements, Helen Mirren was awarded the Cecil B. Will receive the DeMille Award. With prestigious awards, high-profile nominees and the expected memorable moments, the 83rd Golden Globe Awards promises to be a fitting start to the year’s awards season.
