‘Gladiator 2’ trailer: Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal clash in Ridley Scott’s epic saga
The trailer of ‘Gladiator 2’ was released on July 9. Directed by Ridley Scott, the film stars Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal and Denzel Washington.

It’s been over two decades since the original ‘Gladiator’ hit theaters in 2000, mesmerizing audiences around the world with its epic tale of honor and vengeance. Now, filmmaker Ridley Scott returns with ‘Gladiator 2’, featuring a stellar cast led by Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal. The film’s trailer will be released on July 9, 2024.
The sequel continues the story of Scott’s iconic historical epic, which won five Oscars from eleven nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Russell Crowe. In ‘Gladiator 2’, Paul Mescal plays Lucius, the son of Lucilla (Connie Nielsen), the second daughter of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius.
Now an adult, Lucius’ story takes place several years after the events of the original film. The film also stars Pedro Pascal as General Acacius and Denzel Washington as Macrinus.

‘Gladiator 2′ is a tale of power struggle and revenge in ancient Rome. Years after witnessing Maximus’ heroic death, Lucius is thrust into the brutal world of gladiators and the Colosseum. His home has been taken over by tyrannical emperors who now rule Rome with an iron fist.
Motivated by rage and a sense of duty to restore the glory of the empire, Lucius must draw strength from his past to lead Rome back to its former greatness.
This grand cinematic endeavor also stars Mescal, Pascal and Washington alongside Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, Connie Nielsen and Denzel Washington. With such an impressive cast, ‘Gladiator 2’ promises to deliver an epic continuation of the beloved saga.
The film will release in Indian theatres on November 15 and will be available in 4DX and IMAX formats in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
