Tiffany is one of the few artistes who reiterates that she comes to acting without any preconceptions and with a clean slate. Given the kind of stardom she has, the musician has no problem learning. “I’m in a very new field right now, among legends, so I’m excited to start this new chapter of my career with different legends,” she told IndiaToday.in.

During a press conference for ‘Reborn Rich’, Tiffany revealed that she is new to acting and is still learning. With ‘Uncle Samsic’, she is going to step up her game.

Talking about this, she told IndiaToday.in, “This is the first Rachel and Roxy twist. There was a year and a half gap between Rachel and Roxy. My experience with both ‘Reborn Rich’ and the musical ‘Chicago’ has been so much of a growth that I was ready to bring it into this new phase of a much bigger role. It has helped in terms of my behaviour and awareness on set. I like to take time and show respect for any kind of project, not just something of this scale, but whether it’s someone’s idea or a song sketch, I want to respect the craft and take time. So, even with this experience, from putting Rachel on paper to bringing her to life, to the ‘Uncle Samsick’ promo experience, it’s all been a learning experience.”

He added, “I love acting, working, singing and composing. So, I hope this is the beginning of a new chapter in my career.”

Explaining her process, Tiffany responded, “I’ve been lucky enough to be around some incredible creatives. Recently, I was on set with the ‘Uncle Samsic’ team and right now, I’m on stage and in production with ‘Chicago, The Musical,’ where we have both international and Korean teams, and we’re pushing ourselves every day. Can you be better than last night?”

“I am fortunate to have a great coach and team around me that pushes me to be better. I always want to do well and never disappoint the fans, the team or myself,” she added.

Tiffany has always been a perfectionist, but with this new chapter, the musician has learned to let that go. “I realized it’s not about perfectionism, it’s about really being present and focusing on those moments,” she explained.

She further explained, “No ego! It’s always about learning and studying the greats, including Song Kang sunbaenim and Byun Yo-han sunbaenim. I really take the time to study the performances I like, and research creatives, whether it’s directors, lighting, set design, editing, or sound design. I’m a nerd. My secret is to be a nerd (laughs).”

While most musicians begin their acting careers with romantic comedies, Tiffany took the unconventional route. “I love romantic comedies, though. I mean, I grew up in the 2000s, so give me a funny role, and I’m your girl,” Tiffany said.

Finally, speaking about representation and diversity, which she has been striving for for a decade, Tiffany said, “I think with time, years, experience and age, I am grateful that the opportunities are increasing. And it’s not just about one group. It’s really about diversity, whether it’s K-pop. A lot of famous Indian films and productions are being recognised now. It’s really about pushing the conversation about diversity, whether it’s in music or film. And I’m happy to see that everyone has their own story and their own space and their own songs and voices. And that’s a beautiful thing because everyone deserves to be heard and seen. And I hope that continues.”

He concluded, “I know this is just the first of many complex stories, but I hope people will be drawn to more complex stories than just romantic comedies. Although I’m not offended by romantic comedies, I hope this is the first of many complex, messy, beautifully human stories.”

For those who don’t know, Tiffany Young and Girls’ Generation took K-pop to the US and became the first girl group to perform on late-night shows. They broke several records and were treated like nothing less than royalty.
