Gilli, directed by Dharani, is one of the most iconic films of Thalapathy Vijay. Originally released in 2004, the sports action drama returned to theaters this weekend to a great reception. Debuting with Rs. 60 lakhs, the film registered a jump on the second day and collected Rs. 70 lakhs, making the two-day fee Rs. Earned Rs 1.30 crore at Tamil Nadu box office.
Based on current trends, Ghilli is set to collect Rs. 15,000 in its first weekend. Wants to make a record. 2 crores or more, which is a solid result for a film which had a mega re-release just 2 years ago and holds the record for the biggest re-release for the Tamil film industry by a wide margin. For the record, Ghilli paid Rs. Collected more than. It earned Rs 20 crore in its home state during its last re-release, which is still a dream to achieve for other re-releases.
It will be interesting to see how the Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha Krishnan starrer performs in this innings. If the film earns even one-third of what it did two years ago, it will be considered a success.

The film’s cinematography was done by Gopinath, while editing was done by B. Lenin and VT Vijayan. The music of the film was composed by Vidyasagar.
