Garmin, the smartwatch brand that offers premium devices exclusively for fitness and adventure enthusiasts, has expanded its portfolio in India with the launch of the new Fenix ​​8 series. Available in both AMOLED and Solar options, this watch comes in different display sizes and is now on sale in the Indian market starting at Rs 86,990. Along with the new watch series, Garmin has also announced a personalized application aimed at fitness coaches and athletes.

Specifications and features of the Garmin Fenix ​​8 series

The Garmin Fenix ​​8 series is aimed at fitness and adventure enthusiasts by offering two display options: a bright AMOLED screen and a solar-charging model. The AMOLED version is available for purchase in three sizes – 43mm, 47mm and 51mm, while the solar model comes in 47mm and 51mm.

The 51mm AMOLED variant of the Garmin Fenix ​​8 promises up to 29 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, and the solar model extends it to 48 days. The Fenix ​​8 series boasts military-grade resistance to thermal, shock, and water exposure. Garmin has also added a sensor guard to the new Fenix ​​8 series to provide users with greater durability by protecting the watches’ critical components and leak-proof metal buttons.

For fitness tracking, the Garmin Fenix ​​8 Series has a number of features, including daily fitness and body battery scores, track endurance levels, hill climb ability, VO2 Max, and training status, which provide insight into physical performance. The series also includes specialized strength training programs designed for athletes with 4-6 week plans, as well as sport-specific workouts for disciplines such as trail running, skiing, and surfing.

The Garmin Fenix ​​8 Series comes with a built-in speaker and microphone, allowing users to make and receive calls directly from the watch when paired with a smartphone. The smartwatch also allows users to enable voice commands, including note taking and assistance functions, which can also be done offline. For adventures, the smart watch includes a bright, adjustable LED flashlight with red light and strobe mode for better visibility, especially in low light conditions.
