Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh died on Thursday, hours after being admitted to AIIMS, Delhi. Many celebrities expressed their condolences and reflected on the lasting legacy of the two-time Prime Minister.

Actor Manoj Bajpayee paid his last tribute to Manmohan Singh. Sharing a photo of the former PM, he wrote, “Saddened by the demise of our former Prime Minister. A statesman whose contribution to every aspect of our country’s development will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to his family. #RIPDrManmohanSingh (sic).”

Comedian Kapil Sharma recalls his old conversation with the former PM. He shared that it was an honor to meet him, especially as he shared stories about his Amritsari roots and college days.

“India has lost one of its finest leaders today. The architect of India’s economic reforms and an icon of integrity and humility, Dr. Manmohan Singh leaves behind a legacy of progress and hope. His intelligence, dedication and vision transformed our country. Rest in peace, Dr. Singh. Your contribution will never be forgotten. #Dr.ManmohanSingh (sic),” Kapil Sharma wrote.

Sharing pictures of Manmohan Singh with his father Vilasrao Deshmukh, Riteish Deshmukh wrote, “Today we have lost one of India’s finest Prime Ministers. The man who drove India’s economic growth. The man of dignity and humility.” We will always be indebted to his legacy.” May his soul rest in eternal peace, thanks to Shri Manmohan Singh ji.

Actor Randeep Hooda paid his last tribute to Manmohan Singh, who played an important role in India’s economic liberalisation. He wrote, “Deeply saddened by the demise of Dr. Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister of India, whose dignified leadership and pivotal role in India’s economic liberalization transformed the country. His wisdom and integrity will always be remembered. His family will My heartfelt condolences to you.” Om Shanti #Dr.ManmohanSingh (sic).”
