On Saturday, June 29, India pulled off a thrilling 7-run win over South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, and lifted the trophy for the second time. The last time India tasted success was in 2007 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. The win also ended an 11-year drought of winning an ICC title for India, their last win being the Champions Trophy in 2013.

Later, Team India’s veteran cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from T20 Internationals.
