India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in the last over to end the country’s 11-year drought for an ICC title. While citizens celebrated the victory with great enthusiasm, celebs shared their happiness on social media.
India made the country proud by winning the coveted ICC trophy last night. Anushka Sharma was one of the first ones to post and cheer for her husband Virat Kohli on social media. Sharing a picture of Virat lifting the ICC trophy, she wrote, “And I love this man @virat.kohli. So grateful to call you home – now drink a glass of sparkling water for me to celebrate!”

On Saturday, June 29, India pulled off a thrilling 7-run win over South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, and lifted the trophy for the second time. The last time India tasted success was in 2007 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. The win also ended an 11-year drought of winning an ICC title for India, their last win being the Champions Trophy in 2013.
