1. Kai Po Che
Starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh, Kai Po Che is the story of three friends as they navigate their lives in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. They open a cricket academy for young players, however their dreams are shattered after the Bhuj earthquake. The story is also set against the backdrop of the 2002 Gujarat riots that took place after the Godhra train fire.
The deep friendship of Ishaan, Omi and Govind is affected by communal hatred and religious politics.
This 2013 film also featured Amrita Puri in a supporting role. The song Manjha from the film will bring back memories of friendship.
2. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara featured Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol in the lead roles. Katrina Kaif was cast opposite Hrithik and Kalki played Abhay’s on-screen girlfriend.
This 2011 film is the story of three childhood friends Arjun, Kabir and Imran, played by Hrithik, Abhay and Farhan respectively. The three reunite for a three-week bachelor road trip to Spain before Kabir’s wedding.
While enjoying his exciting trip, Arjun falls in love with his diving instructor Laila (played by Katrina). Kabir and Natasha have misunderstandings, but later they realise that they can remain friends. During the trip, Farhan meets his biological father, who is an artist.

3. Dil Chahta Hai
Dil Chahta Hai is a fan favourite, especially for those who have travelled to Goa or are planning to. Starring Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna, Dil Chahta Hai revolves around three close friends, Sid, Akash and Sameer.
Moving forward with their post-college lives, the trio plan a trip to Goa. The brotherhood of the three best friends is thrown into turmoil when Akshay’s character Sid falls in love with an older woman, Tara Jaiswal (played by Dimple Kapadia).
Directed by Farhan Akhtar, the film also featured Preity Zinta and Sonali Kulkarni. Preity was cast opposite Aamir and Sonali opposite Saif.
4. Veere Di Wedding
Enough about male friendships! We are also fans of films that celebrate female friendships. Why not? Veere Di Wedding follows the lives of four friends: Kalindi, Avni, Sakshi and Meera.
The film headlined by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania.
After Kareena’s character Kalindi gets engaged to her boyfriend, the girls’ gang goes on a trip to Thailand. They are all facing challenges in their personal lives.
While Kalindi fears commitment, Avni deals with the complexities of modern relationships while searching for the ideal man. Sakshi’s marriage is on the verge of collapse and Meera faces the societal pressures of motherhood.
5. 3 Idiots
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, 3 Idiots is the story of three college friends, Ranchho, Raju and Farhan. The film is a satire on the Indian education system.
Aamir Khan plays Ranchho, an independent-minded young man who challenges the country’s education system. Ranchho inspires his friends Raju (Sharman Joshi) and Farhan (R Madhavan) to overcome their fears and pursue their passions.
Boman Irani plays the role of Veeru Sahastrabuddhe in the film. Kareena Kapoor and Mona Singh play his daughters. If you have spent hostel life with your friends, then do not forget to watch the ‘Mutra Visarjan’ scene. It will make you roll with laughter.
6. You know or you don’t know
Sometimes Aditi… If you have an Aditi in your life, make sure to invite her to watch Jane Tu Ya Jane Na with you. Imran Khan and Genelia D’Souza’s friendship as Jai (Ratz) and Aditi (Meow) will drive you crazy.
The film is the story of Jai and Aditi who are friends but are very different from each other. Jai and Aditi initially search for love in their respective lives, but eventually they fall in love with each other.
Friendship is put to a test when Jai and Aditi realise that their relationship is falling apart and that they are made for each other. Their mutual friends help them reunite in the climax.
