French actor Juliet Binoche gets Head Cannes Film Festival Jury

French actor Juliet Binoche, nominated for an Academy Award, was recently declared as the jury chief of the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

Oscar winning actor Juliet Binoche has been appointed as the jury head of the upcoming Cannes Film Festival. This makes the actor another woman to hold this position. The first woman to preside over the jury was Barbie director and producer Gita Gervig. Gervig was the one who honored Palme D’Or with Seen Baker’s acclaimed film Anora.

Sharing a statement with the media about the honor, the actor said, “In 1985, I first climbed to steps with the enthusiasm and uncertainty of a young actress,” Binoche said, Binoche said, my first appearance in ear for her Speaking of Breakthrough film Rendez-Vass, for which director Andre Tachin won the best director.

“I never imagined the jury returning to this honorary role as President. I know about the full need of privilege, responsibility and humility,” Binoche said.

Binoche was last seen in the 2024 film, The Return, which again associated him with the English patient’s co-star Ralph Fynena.
