Former Israeli army chief admitted using honeyball instructions against his soldiers

Former Israeli Defense Minister Yo Galant authorized the controversial Hannable instruction on 7 October 2023 during the Hamas -led attack. In an interview with Israeli’s Channel 12 Galant, he confirmed the order in some areas. “I think, cleverly, in some places, it was given, and in other places, it was not given, and this is a problem,” he said.

This allows the use of military protocol force – even at the risk of killing hostages – to prevent the prisoners from falling into the hands of the enemy. This policy has been highly controversial and is believed to have been used informally in many conflicts. Direction priorities take advantage of the enemy on the safety of the lives of soldiers.

Israel has accused Hamas of killing around 1,100 Israeli soldiers and citizens during the attack 16 months ago. But the entry of the gallant suggests that the work of the Israeli army may have killed some Israeli hostages and citizens as well.

During the attack, the Israeli army deployed helicopters, drones and tanks over its area, targeted Hamas fighters, but also attacked Israelis who were taken captive. United Nations reports suggest that the Israeli attack helicopters fired on citizens at the Nova Music Festival, near the Reem military base, the number of further casualties increased.

Galant also revealed that he pushed Hizbullah for a major attack on 11 October 2023, when Hamas attacked Gaza. He called the government’s failure to “Israel’s biggest missed security opportunity”. He claimed that Israeli forces had intelligence information at the Hizbollah meeting, where they could target top leaders, including Hasan Nasrallah and Iranian officials.

He argued that an initial strike would have destroyed Hizbullah’s missile Stockpile’s “90 percent or more”. He also said that Israel’s “Bipar Operation”, which later marked the aggressive against Hizbullah, was prepared long ago and could be executed with the proposed attacks in October 2023.

The former-defined minister accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his cabinet of delaying the possible ceasefire deal with Hamas. He claimed that in April 2024, an almost uniform agreement was signed on the table, which could secure the release of more hostages, reducing the number of Palestinian prisoners.

“I think the Israeli government did not do everything that it may have to return to the hostages,” he said. Many of the 251 Israeli prisoners taken by Hamas were later killed by Israeli aerial attack and friendly fire.

For the resignation of Israel’s top general, Haji Helivy, in January due to the October 7 attack. He cited a “terrible failure” in safety and intelligence, as the reason to step down. Since then, Israel’s continuous military attack in Gaza has killed at least 47,000 Palestinians, some estimates suggested over 2 lakh tolls.

On 8 February, three Israeli was released to the hostages; In turn, 183 Palestinian prisoners and prisoners are to be released later today according to Hamas’s al-Kasam Brigade. Hamas accused Israel of violating ceasefire by delaying humanitarian aid.

So far, 21 Israeli and five Thai hostages have been freed with hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in the first phase of the agreement.
