Forced to watch sex act: Malayalam actor’s big allegation against film producer
Former Malayalam actor Meenu Munir has claimed that popular director-actor Balachandra Menon forced her to watch a sex act. She had earlier accused seven people, including popular actor Jayasurya, of physical and verbal abuse.

Malayalam actor Meenu Muneer has claimed that filmmaker-actor Balachandra Menon forced her to watch sex acts with others in 2007. Earlier, Meenu had accused seven people, including popular actor Jayasurya, of physical and verbal abuse. Following his allegations, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed against the accused. In a recent interview with India Today, Munir also talked about his experiences and the impact of the Hema Committee report, which inspired him to come forward.
Munir alleged that Menon had forced her to watch group sex in his room in 2007. “There were some other men sitting and watching. There were three girls in the room and he was busy with this. I walked out of the room. He asked me to sit and watch,” he said.
Discussing the investigation into his previous allegations against several actors, including Jayasuriya and CPI(M) MLA Mukesh, Munir told India Today, “I am very satisfied with the investigation. It is not an ordinary thing to see such an influential MLA arrested ” It was an intuition for me when the report was published. When the Chief Minister said that we will register cases when we receive complaints, I felt that I should speak about it.
Reflecting on his journey, Munir expressed his disillusionment with the industry. “I dreamed a lot, but the industry proved to be a nightmare for me. This (Hema committee report) is a cleansing not only of the industry but of our society.”
Apart from his charges, Munir is facing a POCSO case based on his cousin’s complaint. Reacting to the situation, she said, “She is taking revenge on me because I didn’t help her get the offer. How can I help her when I know how the industry is? My opposite side is behind this. This There’s a fight.” That’s something I’ll have to deal with.”
Munir also revealed that he has received several calls from individuals to negotiate a settlement, including offers of money. “Now I don’t take calls from unknown numbers,” she said.
Malayalam actor on 25th September Edavela Babu was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) after Meenu Munir accused him of physical and verbal abuse. The actor got anticipatory bail in the case.
In the last week of August, Munir shared a detailed note on Facebook describing his ordeal. She wrote, “I am writing to report a series of incidents of physical and verbal abuse that happened to me at the hands of 1, Mukesh 2, Maniyanpilla Raju 3, Edavela Babu 4, Jayasuriya 5, Advocate Chandrasekaran 6, Production Controller Noble and “Vichu (sic) in Malayalam film industry.”
“In 2013, I was subjected to physical and verbal abuse by these individuals while working on a project. I tried to cooperate and continue working, but the abuse became unbearable. As a result, I had to leave the Malayalam film industry and relocate. Was forced to move to Chennai,” he continued.
