Food Vlogger ‘Test’ 2-minute Maggi Promise, Internet Rejection Method

Many Indians are familiar with “Maggi 2-minute promises”. This refers to the brand’s famous marketing claim that its noodles can be prepared in just two minutes, emphasizing convenience and speed. Over the years, this promise of quick cooking time has become an important part of its appeal and brand identity. Recently, a Food Vlogger decided to test the claim in its own way and his video about the same went viral on social media. However, many users realized that their process was naturally incorrect.

The Vlogger begins saying that he is going to try to make Maggi in exactly 2 minutes and promises to eat whatever results. He starts a timer on a tablet that he puts on the countertop. He then runs to lighten the gas stove, which takes a few seconds to turn on. Next, he places a pan above the heat and pours water in it. He opens a maggi packet and removes the masala pouch. He explains, “I always kept the masala first because this is the right way to cook Maggi.” He empties the powder masala packet over the water and also adds some salt. He mildly shakes the ingredients to mix them and then adds noodles to the pan.

“Maggie’s packet clearly mentions the Maggie’s content – noodles and masala – after boiling. So Nestle assumes that the water is starting 2 minutes after boiling,” they say. Indicating his pan, he said, “But clearly, we ignored it today.” Till this point, the timer has only 30 seconds left. He mixes the contents of the pan again, but declares loudly, “There is no way that it is being cooked. The water is not boiled. But as I promised, I will eat it. No matter what it is.” After the timer exit, he turns off the gas and puts water noodles into a bowl, showing what his version of “2-minute maggi” looks. Finally, he is seen tasting the dish. Reel has seen more than a million times on Instagram so far. In the comments, many users reported that the “2 minutes” of the promise refers to the actual cooking time of the noodles, not the whole process from the beginning. Read some reactions below:

“2 minutes is just a metaphor.”
“Maggi and everything matters after putting everything in water.”
“But why did you add extra salt and waste 10 seconds to lighten the stove?”
“Thank God! I thought it is me who puts the spice first!”
“Use a kettle to boil the water and put that boiling water in a pan.”
“Brother did it intentionally.”
“Okay – he never said to give his comments, try to illuminate your stove within those 2 minutes.”
