‘Fly Me to the Moon’ first reviews: Critics say it’s a perfect date movie
The first set of reviews are in for ‘Fly Me to the Moon’, starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum. The film will be released in theaters on July 12.

The first set of reviews of the much-awaited Fly Me To The Moon is here. Critics have praised the performances of the lead pair – Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johansson.
Jonathan Sim of ComingSoon called it a perfect date movie and wrote on X, “‘Fly Me to the Moon’ is a great movie. Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johansson have amazing chemistry in a perfect date movie that’s a sensational portrayal of a historical event. It’s funny, charming, and utterly adorable in every scene.”
USA Today’s Emma Sasick called it ‘charming’ in a post that wrote, “Looking at ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ as a mystery film — it’s very charming! It has lots of laughs and it touches the heart, too. Scarlett Johansson is excellent, playing to her comedic strengths. Channing Tatum is good, especially with her, but I don’t think of him as a 1960s guy.”
Critic Rory Cashin said Johansson’s fans would not be disappointed: “Scarlett Johansson fans will find much to like in ‘Fly Me to the Moon’. She gives one of her most charming and charismatic performances of the year so far.”
The film, based on NASA’s Apollo 11 moon landing, is directed by Greg Berlanti. Apart from the lead actors, it also stars Nick Dillenburg, Anna Garcia, Jim Rash, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Christian Zuber, Donald Ellis Watkins, Ray Romano and Woody Harrelson in pivotal roles.
It will be released in theatres on July 12.
