Gladiator II first reactions: Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal’s film thrills critics
The first set of reactions to Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal’s highly anticipated Gladiator II is here. Critics seem to be quite impressed with the film directed by Ridley Scott.
Veteran director Ridley Scott returns to the director’s chair with the epic second installment of his beloved classic, Gladiator, Gladiator II. The film, starring Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal, has been receiving rave reviews from critics following its recent premiere, with many calling it a “triumph.”

Discussing the film, managing editor Andrew J. Salazar noted in a tweet, “Gladiator II works best as an acting showcase for Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, and Joseph Quinn. It’s largely uneventful and features the first What the film lacks in emotional punch, though Ridley Scott’s direction is structured as an epic Roman opera, the visuals make up for it.

Gladiator II will be released in theaters on November 15.
