‘FIR’ actress Kavita Kaushik quits television: TV content is too regressive
Actress Kavita Kaushik has left television. Now she lives in the mountains with her husband and runs an Ayurvedic business.

Kavita Kaushik, popular for ‘FIR’, ‘Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki’ and other shows, has quit television. The actress now lives with her husband in the mountains, where they run an ayurvedic business. She revealed that irregular working hours and regressive TV content are the main reasons for her decision.
Kavita Kaushik said in a recent interview that she cannot work for 30 days now. Times Now,I don’t even want to do TV (I don’t want to do TV anymore). I can’t work for 30 days. I am open to doing web shows or films, but I am not a typical heroine who can be easily cast in any kind of shoot. There are only a few kinds of roles that suit my personality. I keep getting offers for TV projects. Dayan Like Satanic rituals. But I can no longer live the same life I did three years ago when I was doing television full time. I am grateful for that period but I was young and I needed money. But now, I can’t devote that kind of time. In fact, even when FIR didn’t take up a lot of time, I used to complain.”
The actress also called TV content ‘regressive’. She said, “TV content is also very regressive and that’s why I don’t want to be a part of it. There was a time when TV was progressive and we had different kinds of shows. There was variety and entertainment for everyone. But now, the kind of content we are showing is really bad for the younger generation to watch.”
He further added, “The kind of regression we show in our reality shows and dramas makes people hate each other. I have been a part of it and I am very sorry. I have contributed to that regression in some way. I don’t accept what they show on television. Whatever you say, we are Indians and we think what is shown on TV is the truth. We are subconsciously influenced by it.”
Kavita is now living a peaceful life in the mountains with her husband Ronit Biswas. They both run an Ayurvedic business together. She said, “I now live in the mountains with my husband and we run an Ayurvedic business here. I have left Mumbai and I come here only when I have to shoot here. We had earlier moved to Goa but the heat there bothered me a lot. It was too much. Also, in the mountains we get all the ingredients easily as the weather is very good here. We are now in Uttarakhand. Now I live in a big bungalow with animals and have a big garden where I grow everything. Now I will keep more cows and geese. I have worked a lot in the entertainment industry but now I like this lifestyle.”
Kavita Kaushik is a popular face on television, who became a household name as Sub Inspector Chandramukhi Chautala in ‘FIR’. She was last seen in ‘Madam Sir’.
