Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accepted the success of ‘TB Mutt Bharat’ to make India tuberculosis-free by 2025.

In response to the post of Union Health Minister JP Nadda, PM Modi wrote on X, “I praise all those who are strengthening the fight against TB and contributing to #TBMuktbharat. It is notable how this effort is gaining momentum at the ground level, thus ensures a healthy India.”

World Tuberculosis Day, on 24 March, after concluding the 100-day rapid TB campaign, highlighted India’s achievements in combating a nationwide eradication campaign, suggesting a nationwide eradication campaign.

In a post on X, NADDA said that India’s TB eradication strategy anchors in a ‘Jaan Andolan’ approach.

Major achievements in TB eradication

More than 1.94 lakh awareness activities were organized as part of the campaign. More than 33,000 elected representatives and 22 line ministries actively participated.

A total of 1.05 lakh new nickel friends (volunteers supporting TB eradication) were gathered to provide nutritional assistance to patients.

Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri @Narendra Modi G, India leads the front in the global fight against TB.

Ensuring better recovery and adherence to treatment, more than 3 lakh nutritional food baskets were distributed.

In the entire states, 13.46 lakh Nikasha Shivar (TB screening camps) were organized, screening 12.97 crore weak persons.

As a result, 7.19 lakh TB cases were identified, including 2.85 million touching cases that could be otherwise undesirable.

The NADDA said that 1.7 lakh Ayushman Arogya temples in India have taken TB care close to the communities, causing early diagnosis and treatment for patients.

He also said that 46,118 gram panchayats were certified as TB-free.

The Health Minister said that the government is ready to take acute TB eradication drive on a scale to include all districts to fight against tuberculosis.
