Fateh, starring Sonu Sood and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles along with Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Raaz, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and others, has almost ended its theatrical run after registering poor trends at the box office.
Fateh is on track to gross around Rs 14 crore worldwide
Released on January 10, Fateh is one of the first releases of 2025 of Hindi cinema. However, it failed to attract the audience and is now heading towards its dramatic end in just a few days with the arrival of Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force.
Fateh opened with a collection of Rs 2 crore on the first day and went on to earn Rs 6 crore in its opening weekend in India. Furthermore, the action film crashed on its first Monday and began to struggle at the box office. It is headed to gross around Rs 10 crore (total Rs 12 crore) in the domestic markets.
Additionally, it grossed over Rs 2 crore from overseas, bringing its final box office earnings to Rs 14 crore at the worldwide box office.
Fateh failed to impress the audience; becomes a disaster
Sonu Sood’s directorial debut Fateh did not strike a chord with the audience. It received mainly average word-of-mouth, which affected its business to a great extent. Additionally, the film also lacked a star face and had poor pre-release marketing. If the makers had promoted it well, its performance at the box office could have been better.
Fateh could not recover his production costs with a theatrical performance, so he received a disastrous verdict. Producers are now solely at the mercy of non-theatrical deals. It will be interesting to see whether the Sonu Sood starrer cyber crime action drama is able to generate significant buzz during its OTT release.
