Fateh records 2,000 admissions in top national chains, relying on good word of mouth
Sonu Sood’s directorial debut, Fateh is a horror action film inspired by true events. The film has impressed the audience with its promotional units. Due to this, the enthusiasm among the moviegoers seems to be increasing. Advance booking of Fateh was opened recently, and there is a bit of buzz due to the discounted prices offered to watch the film on the opening day.
As of January 8 (Wednesday), Fateh has sold around 2,000 tickets across the top three national chains – PVR Inox and Cinepolis – for the opening day, of which a major chunk of tickets were booked at PVR Inox. With still a day to go, the film is expected to sell around 10K-15K tickets before the first show.
It is expected that Fateh will get a good start at the box office. According to initial estimates, it will collect around Rs 2 crore on its opening day. However, a lot will depend on walk-ins and spot bookings.
Fateh reduces ticket prices to Rs 99 for the opening day
Sonu Sood has reduced the ticket fare of Fateh to just Rs 99-112 for all properties across the country (for the standard edition). However, this offer is valid for the opening day only. The producers are hoping to attract crowds with its discounted ticket rates. If it receives positive response, the film may earn favorable earnings at the ticket window.
At the box office, Fateh is facing competition from Ram Charan and Kiara Advani’s Game Changer. Due to discount in ticket rates, Sonu Sood’s film may have the upper hand. It will be interesting to see how the film performs at the box office.
