Rajinikanth starrer Jailer 2 has been officially announced by the makers for January 14, 2025. The much-awaited sequel has been talked about for quite some time, which will be officially confirmed this Pongal.
As soon as the announcement teaser of the film was released in various theaters across India, a large number of fans gathered inside the cinema halls. With the unveiling of the exciting promo of the upcoming film, theaters were thronged with fans celebrating the return of “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian.

Rajinikanth starrer Jailer 2 has been made official by the makers by sharing a glimpse of the superstar along with the film’s director, Nelson and composer Anirudh Ravichander. The 4-minute long promo was packed with action-packed moments, which once again brought out the actor in his deadly avatar.

The film is the sequel to the 2023 film Jailer, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role. The first installment tells the story of a former prison warden who lives a strange life with his family. However, things change when the man’s police officer son goes missing and is assumed dead by the family.
This leads him on a revenge spree, searching for wrongdoers and possible suspects in his son’s death. As the plot thickens, the film also moves towards becoming a heist film.
The film stars Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vasanth Ravi, Myrna Menon, Yogi Babu and many others in lead roles. Apart from the ensemble cast, Mohanlal, Shiv Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff made cameo appearances.
Moving forward, Rajinikanth is currently working on his next film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film is touted to be an action film starring actors Nagarjuna Akkineni and Upendra Rao in the lead roles.
