A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of some other assets owned by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmandi Niwas, ‘Sudasadhar’, and some of his family members, which are in exile in India.
An official said that the court ordered to seize 124 bank accounts belonging to its family.
Zakir Hussain Ghalib, Senior Special Judge of Dhaka Metropolitan, issued an order after an application by the Anti -Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday.
Sheikh Hasina’s husband, late nuclear scientist Ma Wazed Mia, was named Sudha Mia. The House, ‘Sudhasdan, was named after him.
Apart from Sheikh Hasina, some other properties have been confiscated, his son Sajib owned Joy, daughter Siyama Wazed Putul, Sister Sheikh Rehana, and her daughters, Tulip Siddiq and Redwan Mujib Siddiqu.
On 6 February, Bangladesh’s Foreign Ministry staged a strong protest with the Government of India over the “false and fabricated” comments and statements being made by former Prime Minister of the country Sheikh Hasina in various platforms including social media, which aims to instigate volatility.
Bangladesh’s Foreign Ministry on Thursday expressed the deep concern, despair and serious reservation of the Bangladesh government through a protest note handed over to the Indian Acting High Commissioner in Bangladesh’s Foreign Ministry, as such statements are harming people’s sentiments in Bangladesh.
The statement said that Bangladesh has requested the Government of India to take appropriate measures immediately, in the spirit of mutual respect and understanding, Hasina uses social media and other communications, to prevent Hasina from making such “false, fabricated and inflammatory statements”, when she is in India, when she is in India.
On August 5, a student -led movement killed Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, after weeks opposition and struggle. 77 -year -old Hasina, India fled, and an interim government was formed under the leadership of Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus.
