Ella Purnell opened up on the title of scream queen bestowed upon her in the Hollywood industry, following her breakout role as Lucy in the drama series Fallout.
In a conversation with The Guardian, the actress candidly shared her thoughts on the special title given to her, claiming that she did not understand where the conversation started from, as she had never seen horror as a genre in films or other projects. While sitting down for an interview with the media outlet, the Yellow Jackets star mentioned that she’s not a big fan of the sci-fi genre either. Elaborating on the statements, the actress said, “I can’t do horror movies. I don’t really like watching too much horror or any supernatural stuff. I’m not really a big sci-fi person either. And I’m I’m not a gamer so I don’t know how this all happened!”
Purnell further explained her journey in the Hollywood industry and overcoming her impostor syndrome. She said, “I never really planned on becoming an actor. I feel a lot of guilt and impostor syndrome with that statement, because I know a lot of people wanted to be actors since childhood. And that’s just Done.” ‘Don’t do it to me.’

In contrast, the actress entered acting at the age of 20 and has played some iconic roles, such as the young role of Keira Knightley in Never Let Me Go and the young Angelina Jolie in Maleficent. , Purnell also played a role in The Legend of Tarzan starring Margot Robbie.
As for her alternative career, the actress claimed that she planned to go to university and become a writer. “I wanted to go to university and become a writer – I wanted to write books for children,” she said.
Amidst his fame among the crowd, Purnell revealed that it is his family and parents who keep him grounded and never let him get cocky.
