Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives review: Shalini Pasi shines in dull weather
The third season of the popular Netflix show, Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives, boasts of added glamor and opulence, but takes away its usual entertainment. The ‘wives’ seem lost, and the Delhi girls are left to save the situation.

You expect ‘Bollywood Wives’ to dazzle you with their glamor and surprise you with their wit. Each of them has their own extraordinary sense of judging others based on their true nature. And yet in the new season they seem to be failing to do just that. The third season of the reality show titled Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives on Netflix seemed to lack its usual charm. This, despite the involvement of three high and powerful societies from Delhi.
While Maheep Kapoor was more strict about her accent this time, Bhavana Pandey hardly had anything to do with it. Both Seema Sajdeh and Neelam Kothari also looked quite sad throughout the season, except for the last episode where they poured out their emotions in front of the audience. However, this season seemed to be more about Delhi divas than Bollywood wives, especially about Shalini Pasi, a social worker, an art collector and a woman of many talents.
As soon as he is introduced in the first episode, hosting Delhi’s first ‘The Mash Ball’, to which all the elite of the capital are invited, you know there is something about him that will make you curious. Turns out our Bollywood wives are more curious than us! So much so that the entire season becomes completely dedicated to exploring and fathoming Shalini’s lifestyle, her choices and everything that makes her who she is.

Trust our Bollywood wives that they will not give free rein to anyone when it comes to fashion and style. However, they are all confused about what they have to do in the show. There is no meaningful argument other than the resentment between Maheep and Seema, which honestly seems fabricated and more exaggeration than fact. All energies have been put together in an attempt to put Shalini in her place, and prove that she is too weird to conform to the kind of lifestyle that other women adopt, or just about anyone. I refuse to say bad things.
The season justifies the social culture of Delhi and establishes its turmoil, but nothing is presented to us from the perspective of the Mumbai divas. It’s almost as if they are busy finding every corner to hide themselves every time a Delhi diva comes looking for them. At one point, he discusses giving three women a ‘chance’ to impress him, and you realize how he hasn’t understood the job here.
Neither of them seem friendly towards new people, and are constantly looking for ways to either be safe around them or avoid engaging with them. While Shalini does her own thing – learning dance, living in a house like a museum, wearing the most expensive clothes from the world’s biggest designers, and making the world her own personal runway, our Bollywood wives keep watching in awe. And eyebrows were raised.

The show is a sham. As soon as you press the play button, you know what position you are in. But, it’s disappointing to see four women succumbing to their insecurities and misconceptions. Where is that courageous Maheep who can do anything for her ‘pussies’? Or an honest spirit with lots of stories about his family? Even the sophisticated Neelam looks defeated in the show. And Seema makes a case for a lost soul in a strange country. As if she had agreed with her mind and heart to go somewhere else to be a part of the series, to chase some other dreams, or to run away from bad dreams.
All the promos and build-up created by the makers before the release of the third season made Riddhima Kapoor Sahni look like this epitome of royalty in the show. All eyes were on her while she emerged the least expressive, almost evasive. Her presence never added any value to the narrative, nor did you miss her when she wasn’t there. A few scenes with her husband Bharat Sahni showed her family dynamics, but nothing that could portray her personality for you or give insight into the part of the world that is only hers, her star mother, Neetu Kapoor. Or not theirs. Brother, Ranbir Kapoor.
Another Delhi socialite, Kalyani Saha, remains an object of pettiness despite all the talk about her greatness as a single mother or a successful businesswoman. Her only identity boils down to the fact that she had four failed relationships and is now on a quest to find a suitable partner.

It’s only at the end that we get some real insights worth remembering and discussing, when Seema introduces her boyfriend and Neelam discusses her first marriage with Ekta Kapoor. Meanwhile, there’s hardly anything that makes you roll your eyes and wag your tongue.
There is no dearth of glamor and opulence in Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives. In fact, it raises the same level. You’ll get to see Gauri Khan spreading her magic with the opening of a restaurant, Karan Johar keeping his nose in girls’ business, and Saif Ali Khan with a charming presence that will take you back to his Hum Tum days When he reads a book for his fans. , But, at the end of it all, when Bollywood wives don’t perform, the memo isn’t right, it all feels set in stone, which needs improvement. Moreover, they also manage to make Mauritius look boring!
