An explosion shook the outer wall of a police station in the I-9 area of Islamabad, Pakistan, ARY News reported.
According to officials, no one was injured in the attack as the intensity of the blast was limited.
A duty officer had heard the explosions and ignored them, mistaking them for the sound of a tire burst. However, it was revealed that the blast took place in the police station premises.
Police have collected the metal pieces found near the wall. ARY News reported that further investigation is underway.
In 2022, a similar incident rocked a police station in Islamabad’s I-10 area when a suicide attack killed one person and injured several others.
A police officer was killed in an attack by terrorists in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan on December 25, 2024, ARY News reported.
According to ARY News, an official said the terrorists opened fire in the jurisdiction of Ahmadzai Sub-Division Wazir Police Station, killing Head Constable Wazir Zada.
A police officer told ARY News that the police head constable was taken to the district headquarters hospital for post-mortem.
Earlier, a police personnel was killed and a polio worker was injured in an attack by unknown assailants in Karak area of Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa.
The policemen were protecting a team carrying out anti-polio campaign in Banda Dawood Shah area of Karak.
Law enforcement officials said additional police forces were sent to the location after the attackers fled.
At least three children lost their lives due to a motor shell explosion in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on December 2, 2024, ARY News reported on Monday. The incident took place in Sintanga Jani Khel area of Bannu where madrasa students were playing with conch shells.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police officials said the shell exploded in their hands, killing three people on the spot.
At least three children were killed while five others were injured when a live mortar shell exploded in Lower Kurram tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on November 30, 2024. Five other children were seriously injured in the incident which took place in a village area of Lower Kurram tehsil.
Police said the children, all under the age of 11, were playing when they spotted a live mortar shell on a mountainside. The children started pelting stones at the shell which exploded and three of them died on the spot.
