Explained: Salman Khan’s cameo in Singham Again, and its relevance in the police-verse
Salman Khan plays his iconic character Chulbul Pandey from Dabangg in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. But, how does Shetty plan to integrate him into his cop-universe? Here’s everything you need to know.

Actor Salman Khan officially enters Rohit Shetty’s cop-verse with Singham Again. The post-credits scene of the film included a quick glimpse of Shetty joining hands with superstar Ajay Devgan in the world of Indian police. But, what does this cameo mean for the audience? How is Rohit Shetty going to integrate Dabangg’s Chulbul Pandey into his cop-verse? Here’s a possible explanation.
Salman Khan joins the cop-verse as one of his most iconic characters on screen, the flamboyant Chulbul Pandey, who is currently serving in the Uttar Pradesh Police. This character in the three Dabangg films has not yet met any other hero policeman from other states. This is the first time that Chulbul has been seen stepping out of his jurisdiction, teaming up with another respected police officer for a mission.
Their quick glimpse at the end of Singham Again sets the stage for Shetty’s next film, tentatively titled Mission Chulbul Singham. Now it is not clear how much time will it take to make the film. However, Singham Again gives some context as to how Shetty can take this bold integration forward.
Spoilers ahead:
As seen in Singham Again, IPS Bajirao Singham is appointed as the head of a special squad. As the head of this squad, he is assigned the duty of selecting special police officers from all over the country and bringing them together for a joint mission. So he decides to bring together Simmba (Ranveer Singh), Suryavanshi (Akshay Kumar), Shakti Shetty (Deepika Padukone) and Satya (Tiger Shroff) and form a special team to defeat Danger Lanka aka Zubair (Arjun Kapoor). Succeeds in.
In one scene during a conversation with the Home Minister (played by Ravi Kishan), he is informed that his special squad will have its own rules and functions, and it will report directly to the Home Ministry. Singham has also been told not to be afraid of the system and its rules.
In the post-credits scene, Salman enters Singham’s cabin and asks him to welcome him in his typical style: ‘won’t you welcome us(Will you not welcome me?)’. Ajay just turns and flashes a big smile. Although nothing else has been revealed about this wonderful union, it is safe to assume that Chulbul Pandey is going to be a member of Singham’s special squad of officers who are fighting terrorism and injustice in the country.
It should be noted that the cop-verse includes characters from most of the states and languages of India. While Singham and Simmba represent the Maharashtra belt, Shakti and Satya represent the south. Suryavanshi is expected to be from the Rajasthan belt, while Chulbul can represent only the UP region in the team. Not to forget Sidharth Malhotra of the director’s web-series, Indian Police Force, who plays a Delhi cop.
The idea is to let each character bring their own uniqueness to the film, even when their forces are uniting on a mission.
