Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayan is the most awaited film of Indian cinema ever since the makers made a major casting change by bringing together Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sunny Deol and Sai Pallavi for the evergreen tale that celebrates the victory of good over evil. The film will go on floors in March 2024 and according to our sources, Ranbir Kapoor has completed 90 per cent of his work on Ramayan: Part One. “He had allotted a large number of dates to Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra to play the role of Lord Ram and both have adopted extremely professional methods to complete the shoot ahead of schedule,” a source revealed.
Moving on from Ramayan: Part One, Ranbir is all set to begin shooting for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial. love and war from the first week of October. The source told us that Nitesh Tiwari is working with DNEG on the announcement video of the film, which they plan to launch soon. Interestingly, the director has already finalised the shooting schedule for Ramayan: Part One till July 2025. “Yash has given several look tests for his character in Ramayan and is all set to begin shooting in December 2024. He will move on to the epic after completing a major portion of his next film, Geetu Mohandas-directed Toxic. He is excited to play one of the most complex characters in Ramayan,” shared the source.
While Yash will continue shooting for Ramayan: Part One till the first quarter of 2025, Sunny Deol will play the role of Lord Hanuman from the summer of 2025. Borderlands 2Just like Ranbir, Sunny Deol has also allotted a large number of dates to Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra for shooting his part in the Ramayan franchise. In mid-2025, Nitesh Tiwari and team are planning to shoot combination scenes of Yash and Sunny Deol with Ranbir Kapoor respectively.
The VFX work on Ramayan: Part One is going on in full swing on the portions already shot, while the shoot of the epic with all the characters is expected to be completed by August 2025. “The team is confident of making Ramayan a spectacle in 2026. This is the Ramayan team’s labour of love for the audience, and they are leaving no stone unturned to make a film that represents India on a global stage,” the source concluded.
