In the latest episode of Play Date with Pinkvilla, Bad Newz actors Vicky Kaushal and Amy Virk were asked to name a movie where the hero meets three women and they live in the same apartment.
Vicky promptly replied, Garam Masala, and added, “I love this movie…it has the best performance by Akshay sir.”

Recalling his memories of watching Garam Masala in engineering college, Vicky said, “We all went in groups, laughing so much. It is one of the best comedy films ever made. I love Garam Masala.”
Vicky then praised the performances of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and John Abraham, saying that their performances in the 2005 film were “fantastic”.
Amy Virk, who is working with Akshay Kumar in the film ‘Khel Khel Mein’, also praised the superstar. Amy said that Akshay is more fun in real life than in Garam Masala.

The 2005 film was based on Priyadarshan’s 1985 Malayalam film Boeing Boeing, which was originally a remake of the 1965 American film of the same name.
In the film Garam Masala, Akshay played the role of a fashion photographer named Makrand Deendayal Chatpatia aka Mac. John Abraham played his colleague Shyam Salgaonkar aka Sam.
Neetu, Daisy and Nargis played the roles of airhostesses and Mac’s fake fiancée, Sweety Nair, Deepti Sinha and Pooja Dhawan. Rimi’s character, Anjali, was Mac’s real fiancée.
Paresh Rawal was cast in the role of the housekeeper Mambo Rana. His scenes of cooking different types of food and throwing it in the dustbin tickled our bones.
Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal is busy preparing for his upcoming film Bad News. The comedy film also stars Tripti Dimri and Amy Virk in lead roles. So far, the audience has seen its trailer and two songs Tauba Tauba and Jaanam.
This film of Karan Johar will depict heterosexual relationships with romance and comedy.
Directed by Anand Tiwari, Bad News will hit theatres on July 19.
Vicky Kaushal’s work front
Vicky Kaushal worked as an assistant director in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur series. He first appeared in a small role in Kunal Kapoor’s 2012 film Luv Shav Tey Chicken Khurana and then appeared in the 2015 Ranbir Kapoor starrer Bombay Velvet.
Vicky got his first lead role in Neeraj Ghaywan’s film Masaan the same year. He has also worked in films like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Manmarziyaan, Sanju, Raazi, Sardar Udham and Sam Bahadur.
After Bad Newz, the actor is working on Laxman Utekar’s upcoming historical drama, Chava.
