The film Identity starring Tovino Thomas and Trisha Krishnan was earlier released in theaters on January 2, 2025, becoming one of the first releases in Malayalam this year. Now, the action thriller film is all set to release on the big screens soon along with its Telugu and Hindi versions.
According to a source close to the development, Pinkvilla learned that the Tovino Thomas film will release in theaters in Telugu and Hindi on January 23, 2025. Apart from this, we have also learned that the film is going to be streaming on an OTT platform. First week of February. However, the exact date and platform are yet to be announced.
The action-thriller Identity tells the story of Haran Shankar, a part-time martial artist who suffers from OCD due to his abusive father. As the film focuses on a gruesome crime taking place around the city, an eyewitness with a photographic memory becomes the sole lead of the investigation.
With time running out, the investigating officer seeks the help of Haran, who is also adept at sketching. However, as the intense mystery deepens, things take a major turn and the truth begins to emerge.
While Tovino Thomas and Trisha Krishnan play the lead roles, the film features an ensemble cast that includes Vinay Rai, Aju Varghese, Archana Kavi, Shammi Thilakan and many other prominent characters.
Directed by forensic duo Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, the film has music composed by Jake Bejoy. Despite the film’s theatrical run, the film received mixed reviews from critics.
On the work front, Tovino Thomas will next be seen in L2: Empuraan, which is scheduled to release on March 27, 2025. Meanwhile, Trisha will soon be seen in the lead role in Ajith Kumar’s film Vidamuyarchi.
