Shahid Kapoor’s starrer film ‘O’ Romeo’ has recently come into limelight after the release of its intense teaser. Ahead of the film’s release on February 13, 2026, the trailer was expected to be unveiled soon. However, Pinkvilla has learned that the makers have canceled the launch event.
According to our sources, the O’Romeo trailer event has been canceled due to safety concerns. The makers took the decision after Sanobar Shaikh, daughter of late gangster Hussain Ustara, reportedly demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore from the film’s team.
Although not many details about the film have been revealed yet, audiences will have to wait and see when the trailer is released and when the film finally hits the big screens.

‘O’ Romeo’ is a romantic action drama starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead role. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the film is based on post-independence Mumbai. As the city changes and the world of crime intensifies, the grim tale of the gangster underworld takes a transformative turn, with many intense moments brewing behind the shadows.
Amidst all this turmoil, the protagonist also grapples with the inherent unpredictability of romance, often blurring the lines between her love story and the violent world she lives in.
Apart from Shahid Kapoor, the film stars Trupti Dimri, Avinash Tiwari, Farida Jalal, Vikrant Massey, Nana Patekar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, Aruna Irani and many others in lead roles.
Written by Vishal Bhardwaj and Rohan Narula, O’ Romeo is scheduled to release on February 13, 2026, just a day before Valentine’s Day.
Shahid Kapoor’s work front
Shahid Kapoor was last seen in the lead role in the film Deva. Directed by Roshan Andrews, the action thriller tells the story of ACP Dev Ambre, a violent young policeman who undergoes a major personality change after losing his memory in an accident and is forced to re-investigate the death of a fellow police officer.
Apart from Kapoor, the film stars Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, Pravesh Rana and many others in lead roles. The film is an adaptation of the film Mumbai Police starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, with a changed climax.
Looking ahead, Shahid is currently shooting for his next project Cocktail 2, co-starring Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna.
