It’s only because when Zindagi was launched that I couldn’t come. Let alone love India from a distance because of the political situation. Sanam is not sure about coming to India for work, but she reiterated that she would love to visit India. “I will definitely come to India, just as a visit. Work – we will see. But, just as a visit, I would love to come. There is so much to see there,” Sanam told us.
The political tension between India and Pakistan has affected the way artists work across the border. When asked if that tension still remains when taking on a project across the border, Sanam said, “As far as production is concerned, there is no fear because the captain of the ship at that time was Shailaja (Zindagi head). She was amazing to work with, and she is someone who knows what she wants to do. So, we could leave all other issues aside and just focus on making content that would please her and attract the world. When you have people like her backing the project, you don’t care about what’s happening around.”
