Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule hits the screens on December 5, 2024 and is running successfully in theatres. In an exclusive masterclass interview with the actress on Pinkvilla, she was asked about her thoughts on her monologue scene which is a crucial point in the entire film.
Talking about the same, Rashmika Mandanna recalled, “I remember when I started shooting for Pushpa 2, the director of the film, Sukumar sir came and told me that Srivalli has this arc and she has to do it in the film. This is an important moment. We will talk about it when the time comes but you have to perform.”
“I was always curious when the jathara sequence would come, which is 20 or 21 minutes of the film. So, the shooting went on for about 3-4 months, but when we came on the scene, he (Sukumar) is not the person who has a bound script. He’s a guy who figures it out as he goes along. When it came time for the scene, we were figuring out the lines and suddenly, I only had 3-4 pages of my speaking,” said the actress.
He further added, “For me, I am an interactive actor. If I’m performing with you, I’ll say my lines and listen to you. Then I will respond to your feedback on my next line. Suddenly, there’s this scene where no one is saying anything and she just keeps going further and further.
Speaking further, Rashmika elaborated on how her brother-in-law’s character had been troubling Pushpa since the first instalment, and this monologue scene acted as an emotional outburst for her. With her mother-in-law trying to keep her under control, and Srivalli also talking about her pregnancy, this scene became a moment where the audience would want to praise Allu Arjun’s Pushpa and his Srivalli.
Additionally, the actress also said, “I wanted to make an impact and of course, people call me the ‘Expression Queen’, so I might as well use that. From being angry to tired, from anger to sadness to laughter, this scene was shown as if you mess with me, I will give you back 10 times.
