Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala, who have been dating for quite some time, finally made their relationship official with their engagement on August 8, 2024. As the ceremony is making waves on the internet, Pinkvilla has got some great insider details from the event.
Naga Chaitanya and Shobhita’s engagement ceremony was held traditionally respecting Telugu culture. The ceremony was held in an intimate manner at Chaitanya’s residence in Hyderabad, with only close family members in attendance.
The celebrations began with a traditional puja, followed by an all-vegetarian meal made from Andhra cuisine. Naga Chaitanya’s parents Nagarjuna Akkineni, Lakshmi Daggubati, his stepmother Amala Akkineni and his stepbrother Akhil also attended the event.
Along with them, Shobhita’s parents also blessed the happy couple for their new journey. While the actress has made a name for herself with her work in films and web series, her father is a marine engineer while her mother is a teacher in a government school. Apart from this, her relatives are also working as doctors and lawyers.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Nagarjuna Akkineni hosted a celebratory dinner. The couple’s engagement was officially announced by the actor himself through his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
The actor penned his heartfelt message and welcomed Sobhita into his family. Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala were rumoured to be dating each other since 2022 ever since Sobhita got divorced from Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The two were spotted together at several places ever since Sobhita was promoting her film Major in Hyderabad.
Talking about work, Naga Chaitanya is currently shooting for his film Thandel directed by Chandu Mondeti. In this film set in the backdrop of Srikakulam, the actor is playing the role of a member of the fisherman community and has done a lot of preparations for it.
This film marks the actor’s second collaboration with actress Sai Pallavi, who plays his love interest. The duo’s chemistry was highly praised in Sekhar Kammula’s romantic film Love Story.
