The countdown for the next installment of Anees Bazmee directed horror comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 starring Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Trupti Dimri and Madhuri Dixit has begun. While the makers recently launched the teaser of this Diwali 2024 release, they are all set to take their campaign forward with the theatrical trailer and music by the month of October. Not only this, we have exclusively learned that Bhushan Kumar has signed a huge non-theatrical deal for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is the biggest deal till date for this franchise and Kartik Aryan.
According to sources close to the development, digital, satellite and music rights maze 3 Key players have been sold for Rs 135 crore. “After the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Netflix has acquired a huge amount for the digital rights, but the satellite rights are with Sony Network. On the other hand, music is given intrinsic importance by T Series, and the team is excited to make big profits from the music, as the album has 4 super-hit songs,” revealed a source close to the development.
The source further said that the team of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has covered a major part of its budget with pre-sale of non-theatrical rights. “Anees Bazmee and Bhushan Kumar have left no stone unturned in presenting horror comedy on a large scale. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has been made on a budget of Rs 150 crore, excluding prints and promotions, and a major portion has already been recovered with back-end deals,” said the source.
The source shared that horror comedy is the flavor of the season, and the success of the last installment has given all the non-theatrical partners a chance to invest more in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. “It is an awaited film, and comedy performs better on digital and satellite too because of the repeat value of the genre. Karthik Aryan There is also a fan-base among the youth, which is often a point of contention for the premium prices paid by digital players, as the OTT world is largely dominated by the youth,” the source concluded.
