EXCLUSIVE: Akshay Kumar gives 18 days to Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgan for Golmaal 5

In an exciting development in comedy entertainment, Pinkvilla has exclusively learned that Akshay Kumar is all set to join the much-awaited 5th installment of the iconic Golmaal franchise, directed by Rohit Shetty. Akshay Kumar, who is currently gearing up for the release of his horror-comedy Bhoot Bangla, has allotted 18 days in his schedule for the shooting of Golmaal 5.

According to a source, the producers were keen to bring in Akshay for a special but impactful role that would add a new dynamic to the comedy. As we all know, Akshay Kumar and comedy go hand in hand, and the team was clear that his presence will add a whole new layer to Golmaal 5.

A source told Pinkvilla, “Akshay Kumar has a dynamic role in the film that will fill the house with laughter. Khiladi Kumar has allotted 18 days to shoot the film, and will share a Tom and Jerry-like equation with Ajay Devgan on screen."

Interestingly, this project will be the first time that Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan will work together on a full-fledged comedy film. While both the actors have shared screen space in the past in films like Simmba, Sooryavanshi, Khakee and others, the Golmaal universe will present them in a hilarious rivalry equation.

Golmaal 5 will also feature the franchise’s beloved OG gang, including Arshad Warsi, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kemmu and Tusshar Kapoor, among others. On a related note, Sharman Joshi will be returning to the franchise after almost two decades.

The source further says, "As soon as Rohit Shetty narrated the film to him, Akshay immediately liked the script and his character and immediately agreed to join the hilarious world of Golmaal."

With this huge ensemble cast and a refreshing comic dynamic between Akshay and Ajay, Golmaal 5 promises to be one of the biggest comedy franchises to be made. Golmaal 5 (also known as Golmaal Five), scheduled to release in 2027, is produced under the banner of Rohit Shetty Pictures.
