Akshay Kumar is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming comedy film Khel Khel Mein, directed and written by Mudassar Aziz, a remake of the 2016 Italian film Perfect Strangers that also stars Amy Virk, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal and Pragya Jaiswal. Ahead of the film’s release on August 15, the star cast sat down for an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla. During the interaction, Khiladi Kumar spoke about dealing with the criticism he receives for his films.
Sharing his opinion on the matter, the actor said that it all depends on where it is coming from. Akshay Kumar said, “What is the background of the person, what the person has done in life.” The Bade Miyan Chote Miyan actor further added that there are different types of criticism.
Elaborating further, he said, “There is personal criticism, in which the person gets personal. There is a person who wants the other person to be better, which he is saying from his heart. So, I like that I take it very seriously, I understand it, and I go for it. I have made a lot of changes because of criticism as well. When I hear the right criticism, when I understand it, and it makes sense to me, then I go for it.”

In the same conversation, he also talked about the positive reception the sequels of the accepted films are getting. Kumar said that since the audience likes them, he is doing them.
He also added, “Whatever people say, we should try and understand. But at the same time, I won’t stop doing different kinds of films. Because sometimes I feel I should give the audience what they want.”
Sharing his process of choosing films, the veteran star said that at that moment, he thinks, “My audience wants it. I will give it. Whether I succeed or not, at times, I have succeeded, and at times, I have failed. But that doesn’t mean I stop doing it.”
