Bhumika Chawla and Sara Arjun starrer Euphoria releases in theaters on February 6, 2026. The film, directed by Gunasekhar, will probably stay away from OTT release for some time.
Is Euphoria planning to skip OTT release?
At a promotional event for Euphoria, director Gunasekhar reacted to the increasing trend of audiences skipping theaters in anticipation of the digital release. The filmmaker emphasized that his latest project is made especially for the big screen.
During the event, the director said that if Euphoria is released online, it will take away the emotional experience he has worked hard to create. The filmmaker said that the film caters to the needs of the theater going audience and provides complete value to those who like to watch it in theatres. He also appealed to family audiences to support theatrical viewing instead of postponing it for OTT release.
The director also reflected on how earlier films enjoyed long theatrical runs, while today’s quick OTT releases have changed audience habits.
For those unaware, Euphoria is the latest film starring Bhumika Chawla and Dhurandhar fame Sara Arjun in the co-lead roles. The film revolves around Vindhya Vemulapalli, the principal of a top college in the city. In the course of events, she approaches the High Court and files a case against herself.
What led him to file a case against himself and the nature of his relationship with a young woman, Chaitra, is explored in the film. The film deals with themes of parenting, justice and the constant cost of ambition.
As Gunasekhar returned to the director’s chair after 3 years, it marked Sara’s debut as a lead role in Telugu cinema, having previously appeared in a child artiste role. Apart from the lead roles, the film stars Nassar, Rohit, Gautham Menon, Vignesh Gavireddy, Likhita Yalamanchali, Addala Prithviraj, Kalpa Latha, Ravi Prakash and others.
Kala Bhairav has composed the music, while the cinematography is by Praveen K Pothan and editing is by Praveen Pudi.
