Eros Hotel New Delhi organised a South Indian Food Festival at Blooms and it was not to be missed!

Must read

I love South Indian food, so when I found out that Eros Hotel New Delhi was hosting a limited-period South Indian food festival, I couldn’t miss it. Deccan Express, Blooms in Eros Hotel New Delhi Nehru Place, brought to the forefront the South Indian cuisine by bringing a variety of popular dishes from the region, each one better than the other. Eros Hotel keeps organizing such food festivals to introduce its customers to various regional cuisines that they may not otherwise be able to taste. Whenever I have been to these festivals, I have always come back with a happy heart and an even happier stomach. This one was no different.

One thing I look forward to (and enjoy shamelessly) is the warm hospitality I always receive the moment I step in. Eros Hotel New Delhi feels like home with so much care and attention from the staff, and not to forget the delicious food that makes my trip even better.

I got to enjoy the authentic and wonderful taste of South Indian cuisine at the Deccan Express Food Festival. I was served several dishes one after the other and it turned out to be a huge meal that I could hardly eat but surprisingly, my stomach actually ate!

It started with starters like Chettinad Chicken, Raw Banana Chips, Chicken 65, Chicken Lollipop, Gobhi 65 and Pakodas. I really liked Gobhi 65 and Chettinad Chicken. With fresh chutney, the delicious first course increased my appetite.

Then came the Surmai fish and Ragi puttu. I was very pleased with the preparation of the fish. Very simple but very tasty. The Ragu puttu was a bit bland for my taste but since it is served like that, no complaints. But I loved the Podi Idli. It had the perfect flavour and was very tasty.

Main course time – South Indian Thali! The thali had everything I wanted. Tomato rice, rasam, parpu dal, carrot beans poriyal, Chettinad biryani and raw banana masala – a delicious meal that tasted amazing.

But the best part was yet to come. You guessed it – desserts!

The dessert platter had Mysore Pak, Paal Payasam and Besan Laddu. All three were delicious, but the Paal Payasam won my heart.

Congratulations to Chef Bhaskar for preparing such a wonderful South Indian dish. I can’t wait to go back to Blooms, Eros Hotel New Delhi for more such wonderful dishes.
