If Sanjana Sanghi’s trip to Jaipur has inspired you to visit the Pink City, here are a few places you must include in your itinerary.
Hawa Mahal
Jaipur is best known for the red sandstone monument known as the Palace of the Winds or Hawa Mahal, which resembles a honeycomb. During the day you can explore its elaborate interiors, but at night its vibrant mirrored windows come alive.
Amer Fort
Situated on a hilltop, the Amer Fort, also often referred to as the Amber Fort, is a magnificent structure that must be admired. The place, which beautifully combines Mughal and Hindu design, was built from marble and red sandstone. Inside the fort, guests are free to explore the magnificent gardens, courtyards, and palaces.
City Palace
The City Palace, which is divided into several courtyards, served as the royal home of the last ruling family. One of the many notable features of this place is its four elaborate gates that symbolize the seasons: the Green Gate for spring, the Lotus Gate for summer, the Peacock Gate for fall, and the Rose Gate for winter.
Jal Mahal
Jal Mahal is a magnificent palace located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake. Although visitors are not allowed inside, it is still a famous spot for boating and photography. This palace is especially beautiful during the monsoon when the lake is completely full.
Jantar Mantar
Jantar Mantar is an open-air observatory with a history dating back to 1728. Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, the place is a testament to his interest and understanding of astronomy. It houses 19 architectural astronomical instruments, including the world's largest stone sundial.
