After a successful stint in theater RightEmraan Hashmi is now ready to capture the OTT space Taskery: The Smuggler’s WebHe will be seen wearing the uniform of a customs officer in the Netflix series directed by Neeraj Pandey, While discussing the project, the actor also stressed on its success stalwartWhich created a stir at the box office. When asked if the success of a film can be troubling sometimes, because everyone aspires to get that kind of box office with every film.

The actor immediately added, “Whenever a film does a certain amount of business, first of all, you are happy. (However,) there is a rubbish mentality in our industry. People love rubbish films. But my opinion is that if something does well, you should celebrate it. Because really…the more films do well, the more it gets for the industry, and the cash flows in. It helps everyone. So, there should not be that rubbish mentality.”

Imran also praised the film, saying how marketing and word of mouth helped it run in theatres. And while he hasn’t seen the film yet, he was also surprised by how audiences chose to watch the relatively long film.

“But it’s great for the producers. I think it’s a great film. The marketing of the film, the way it is… I haven’t seen the film, but it’s audacity when you have two parts like that. And a film that’s almost three and a half hours but it’s doing that kind of business. I was just telling someone that the cinema experience will be four hours, but people are watching it in 12 o’clock shows, even in the morning. And that’s Hashmi. Said, “The power of cinema and word of mouth has spread like wildfire.”

He also shared an update on vagrancy 2A film for which most of his fans are eagerly waiting. Last year, as Saira grew up, many people also noted how Awarapan was the true OG romantic movie for the millennial generation. He said, “So, almost 50 per cent of the shooting is done. We still have one leg left, which we will finish (soon). And after that we will release it in the next few months.”

Taskery: The Smuggler’s Web It also stars Zoya Afroz, Sharad Kelkar, Nandish Sandhu and Amrita Khanvilkar. It will arrive on Netflix on January 16.
