Emmys 2024: FX’s The Bear season two and Shogun dominate categories; see full nominations list here

The nominees for the 76th Emmy Awards have been announced!

Veep actor Tony Hale and Abbott Elementary’s Sheryl Lee Ralph announced the contenders for the prestigious award in a YouTube livestream on Wednesday, July 17. This year, FX’s Shogun and Season 2 of The Bear are leading the nominations. Netflix’s critically acclaimed but controversial series Baby Reindeer Got Flowers!

Will last year’s champion, FX’s The Bear, dominate this year’s Emmy Awards?

Jeremy Allen White’s comedy-drama series had the most wins last year. Now, with its second season, the show has dominated three categories at the Emmys, including Lead Actor and Lead Actress in a Comedy (Ayo Edebiri) and Best Comedy Series.

Will history repeat itself? It’s hard to say, as the contenders in these categories are equally strong: ABC’s Abbott Elementary, Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building and Apple TV+’s Palm Royal among them.

Netflix shows dominate the Drama Series and Anthology categories. The Crown and 3 Body Problem, from the makers of Game of Thrones, are nominated for Drama Series. Meanwhile, Richard Gad’s Baby Reindeer is nominated in the Limited Series or Anthology Series category along with Netflix’s thriller Ripley, starring Andrew Scott.
