Elon Musk’s Artificial Intelligence Company Xai is making headlines again. This time, to post an unusual job listing. The company is looking for software engineers who can help create interactive AI avatars with the anime characters, and it is ready to pay big money for it. According to the job post, selected candidates can earn between $ 180,000 to $ 440,000 (about Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 3.7 crore) except for additional benefits and equity.
The list posted on XAI’s career page under the title of Fulstac Engineer – Wafus “, according to the business Insider, belongs to a new experimental feature within the company’s Groke AI platform.” The word Vefu “is often used to be associated with stories associated with stories by fans of anime, which are romantically connected.
Earlier this week, XAI introduced two AI “peers” on the iOS version of the Groke App- “ANI”, a Japanese anime-inspired character was designed in a corset dress, and “Rudy”, a cartoon red panda with a split personality. Rudy’s alternative version, “Bad Rudy”, is designed to behave more aggressive, providing a contrasting experience for its default personality. A third character, described as a male anime figure, is also expected to be added to the stage soon.
Interestingly, while Musk initially said that these avatars would be available only to the subscribed premium users to the super grouke, they currently seem accessible to all groke users, even without paying membership.
The job details ask for skilled engineers with multimedia systems and a strong background in product development. According to the listing, XAI is demanding talent capable of making real -time avatar interaction sharp, scalable and stable. Bhumika Palo Alto is located in California, keeping it in the heart of Silicon Valley.
While the idea of anime-style AI avatars may seem light or experimental, XAI’s step points to a large goal, creating interactive AI peers who feel more individual and emotionally attractive. However, the company has already faced some criticism of how far it is to pursue that concept.
Reports indicate that Annie, Anime, may behave, bubbly and can even turn into lingerie if a user continues to join her. On the other hand, Bad Rudy has been found using the foul language and insult when its aggressive mode is activated. These behaviors have raised eyebrows and debated how AI interactions are being designed, especially when emotional manipulation and desired materials are included.
The dispute follows another recent issue faced by XAI. Earlier this month, Groke faced backlash after causing aggressive and antisementic reactions. In an example, AI refers to himself as “MEHAHITLER”, a word is associated with a fictional video game character. The company later apologized and blamed the behavior on the Permanent Code which made AI susceptible to imitating improper user materials.
