Elon Musk has long criticized the online encyclopaedia site Wikipedia, which she called the ‘Vok’ ideology. Now the billionaire has announced that his company XAI is creating a new encyclopedia called Grokipadia run by Grocke AI of its XAI startup.
Every time Elon Musk sees a platform not aligning with his ideas, he is planning to create a new to rival it. This time, the billionaire set his eyes on creating a digital incellopidia called Grokipadia from a rival of Wikipedia. Musk has announced that his AI Startup XAI is working on this new project, according to him, there will be a “mass improvement” on Wikipedia to get information for people.
Responding to a post on X, claiming that Wikipedia is biased, Musk wrote: “We are building Grokipedia @XAI. Wikipedia will improve a large scale. Clearly, it is an essential step towards the XAI goal of understanding the universe.”
His quarrel with Elon Musk and Wikipedia
This is not the first time we have seen the CEOs of SpaceX and XAI a broadcasting their issues with Wikipedia. He has accused the site of having a left-wing bias several times and is being affected by what he says. He has also questioned the funding model of Wikimedia, as non-profit depends a lot on public donations. In fact, in 2023, Musk jokingly offered Wikipedia to $ 1 billion, if it turned its name to “Dicipidia”.
The criticism of Wikipedia’s musk has increased with a lot of time. Earlier this year, he criticized the platform for allegedly adding an entry about him to make an opening of Nazi at the Trump inauguration program. He often shares posts with people who support their views, such as Venture Capitalist David Sachs, who recently argued that Wikipedia is biased and dominates by leftist activists who oppose improvement. It was on Sachs’ post that Musk replied, shared the news of Xai bringing a new encyclopedia site.
With Grokipadia, Musk wants to rival Wikipedia-edited Wikipedia with his AI chatboat, some run by Groke. Buced under its XAI startup, Groke AI was launched in late 2023 as a rival to Openai’s chat. Musk has always postponed the grouke as an AI system that is capable of identifying lies, correcting half-incomplete, and adding missing reference to online information.
But Musk’s own AI system is not free from controversy. Earlier this year, Chatbot named Musk, Donald Trump and JD Vance named “Three people the most damage to America”.
