Ekta Kapoor thanks PM for ‘inspiring words’ on Sabarmati report
PM Modi praised the Sabarmati report for revealing the truth of the 2002 Godhra incident. Ekta Kapoor thanked him for his ‘inspirational words’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised The Sabarmati Report, the latest Bollywood film based on the tragic Sabarmati Express incident that took place on the morning of February 27, 2002, near Godhra railway station in Gujarat. Acknowledging the role of the film in bringing out the truth, Modi took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his views.
In response, Sabarmati Report producer Ekta Kapoor expressed her gratitude and emphasized how Modi’s appreciation was a significant boost for the film’s team.

Responding to an X user’s opinion on the film, Prime Minister Modi said That “fake narratives can only be sustained for a limited period of time.”
He wrote in his post, “Rightly said. It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way that the common people can see it. A fake story can last only for a limited time. After all, facts Will come out always come out (sic).”

Sabarmati Report was released in theaters on 15 November. The film received mostly negative reviews. Part of India Today’s review reads: “Overall, the film is an honest attempt to look at the Godhra tragedy and what happened to the Sabarmati Express on that fateful day. However, it deals with a number of issues – including “Includes the whole vernacular versus English journalists angle, which is blown to extremes, sometimes overshadowing the tragedy.”
