European Central Bank’s inflation target is at 2%, ECB President Christine Legarden said in an interview on Saturday.
In an interview with the Zinhua News Agency of China earlier this week, released on the ECB website, Legarde said financial stability is a prerequisite for stability.
“We are within the reach of 2% medium-term inflation target,” he said, which we define as price stability.
Earlier this month, the ECB reduced its inflation forecast for this year and the next in the 20-national euro zone, 2.0% in 2025 and 1.6% next year.
Legard also noted that ECB efforts to make digital currency were reaching a place where, if legislators support the proposal, they should be ready to move.
