Monkeys infected with Ebola can be cured using a tablet, found in a new study that can revolutionize the fight against the malignant virus. Thomas Gisbert, a virologist at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galton, who led the study, was published Science progress It is said that his team tested the antiviral obeldicivir, which is the oral form of the intravenous Remedisive, originally developed as a potential treatment drug for Kovid -19.
Researchers infected Rhesus and Sinomolgus Macak with a high dose of the Macona version of the Ebola virus. Later, 10 monkeys received an obeldicivarpil daily, while three control money received no treatment and died.
Meanwhile, the bullet protected 80 percent of Cynomolgus Macaques and 100 percent of Reasus Macaques, which are biologically close to humans. Mr. Gisbert said that although the number of monkeys used in the test was relatively low, the results were statistically powerful. Monkeys were given an Ebola virus dose that is about 30,000 times the deadly dose for humans.
He said that Obeldicivir’s “broad-spectrum” protection, which only works against Zaire stress, was a “huge profit” compared to other antibody treatments.
“These findings suggest that ODV treatment confirms the opportunity of development of adaptive immunity, potentially preventing fatal results,” the study exposed.
Most Ebola outbreaks affect sub-city Africa where health infrastructure is not able to handle antibody treatments, which require expensive cold storage. Additionally, providing treatment in some poorest areas becomes an almighty challenge, which prevents pharma companies from developing antidots.
Mr. Gisbert said that his colleagues “actually trying to come up with something” which was more practical, was easy to use and “it could be used to prevent, control and help prevent outbreaks”.
Depending on the encouraging results, the US-based pharma giant Gillid has already upgraded Obeldesives for Phase 2 clinical trials for the Marburg virus, a close relative of Ebola.

What is Ebola?
Ebola is a viral hemorrhagic fever that was first discovered in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The natural reservoir of the virus is suspected of being a species of fruit bat, which does not fall ill itself, but it can pass the disease on primates, including humans.
Six of the virus species are known to cause disease in humans – Zaire, Sudan, Bundibugyo, Reston, Tai Van and Bamli. The first three people have caused severe outbreaks in Africa, but Zaire has caused most cases in the last decade.
