Dyson Ontrack: Features and Specifications

The Dyson Ontrack headphones are equipped with Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology, which uses eight microphones to sample external noise 384,000 times per second, reducing noise by up to 40dB. According to Dyson, this feature is designed to improve the listening experience by reducing background noise. The headphones are equipped with 40mm neodymium drivers that cover a frequency range of 6Hz to 21,000Hz, which aims to provide a balanced sound profile across different music genres.

A key feature of the Ontrack headphones is their customisation options. Dyson is giving users the option to personalise their headphones with replaceable caps and ear cushions, which are available in over 2,000 colour combinations.

Speaking of the build, the Dyson OnTrac headphones are built using materials such as aluminium, ceramic, and microfibre to offer durability and comfort. The headphones also feature multi-pivot gimbal arms and placement of the battery within the headband, which provides balanced weight distribution for more comfortable wear.

Talking about power, the Ontrack headphones are powered by two lithium-ion batteries, which Dyson claims can provide up to 55 hours of playback on a single charge with ANC enabled. Dyson says this extended battery life can be beneficial for users who require long-lasting performance without frequent recharging. The headphones also support fast charging via USB-C, with a 30-minute charge providing up to 9 hours of playback and a 10-minute quick charge promising up to 2.5 hours of usage.

Connectivity options on Dyson’s Ontrack include Bluetooth 5.0 with a range of up to 9 metres, allowing wireless pairing with a variety of devices. The headphones can be controlled via the MyDyson app, which offers additional features such as real-time sound tracking and custom EQ modes, including bass boost, neutral, and enhanced settings. Users can also manage playback and calls using the intuitive joystick controls on the headphones.

Dyson Ontrack availability and expected price in India

Globally, Dyson launched the Ontrack headphones in July at a price of $500. Indian pricing is also expected to be around the same range, placing the Ontrack in the premium segment of audio products. The Dyson Ontrack headphones will be available in four colour options: CNC Copper, CNC Aluminium, CNC Black Nickel, and Ceramic Cinnabar.
