A plane bound for Amsterdam skidded off the runway at Oslo Torp Sandefjord Airport in Norway after making an emergency landing. The incident occurred on Saturday night, when a Boeing 737-800 operated by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines experienced a hydraulic failure shortly after takeoff from Oslo Airport, forcing the crew to divert to Sandefjord Airport.
It happened just hours before a Boeing 737-800 plane operated by Jeju Air, which was flying from Bangkok to South Korea with 181 people on board, crashed while landing at Muan International Airport on Sunday, prompting rescue efforts from the wreckage. Except the two people left, everyone else is feared dead.
According to media reports, the KLM flight was carrying 176 passengers and six crew members. It landed safely at Sandefjord Airport, located 110 kilometers south of Oslo. However, while landing the plane skidded off the runway before stopping on soft grass near a taxiway, a video of which is being widely shared on social media.

Video shows passengers being evacuated from the plane using mobile ladders as emergency responders arrive at the site. Fortunately, all 182 people on board the plane were safe.
KLM later confirmed the incident in a statement, saying a loud noise was heard during takeoff, forcing the plane to be diverted. NOS said in a report that the pilots were unable to control the plane upon landing and it slid into the grass next to the runway.
The airline also assured that the passengers and crew were unharmed and looked after and that an investigation into the incident has been initiated.
According to Dutch media reports, the flight departed from Oslo at 6:55 pm (local time) and the plane landed at Sandefjord Airport in Torp at 7:14 pm (local time).
After they were evacuated to safety, all passengers were taken by bus to the Torp Sandefjord Airport terminal and were all deboarded from the plane shortly before 9:00 pm (local time), reports said.
